Course Name : Information Technology

Department of Information Technology has started functioning from 1998 with an intake of 40 students and with the growing demand for Information Technology graduates the intake has been increased accordingly to offer Bachelor of Technology in Information Technology. Department has grown gradually both in terms of intake and teaching & research. The Department is committed to produce well-trained IT graduates. This department has received twice ISO certification, AICTE accreditation twice, and accredited by UGC NAAC with ‘A+’ Grade. The department functions within the framework of Vision statement of the college. The department has set its goals to provide our students, faculty and staff with the most reliable and innovative technological ideas to meet the needs of an ever-changing and increasingly complex world. along with the support and training necessary to the technology effectively. The department intends to exceed the expectations of the students, parents and the Management of the college.

Program Specific Outcomes (PSO's)

  1. To design, implement and evaluate computer technologies, systems, processes, components and/or programs appropriate to a defined task, while analyzing the impact on existing systems and potential future applications and also develop technological solutions to simple and complex problems.
  2. To apply formal frameworks, methods and management systems to the organization, storage and retrieval of data in ways that demonstrates an understanding of both the business enterprise and the relevant technology.
  3. To implement effective business solutions across an organization that demonstrates appropriate consideration of alternative computer technologies, including networks, servers, programming languages and database systems.
  4. To plan, analyze, design and construct information systems to identified specifications, using clear and efficient code in the relevant programming language(s).
  5. To develop, analyze and defend solutions to networking and security problems that demonstrate an appropriate balance among security needs, business concerns, confidentiality, availability and system integrity.

Program Outcomes (PO's) - Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
