The Department functions within the framework of Vision Statement of the College. The Department has set its goals to bring back the fame and confidence in Electrical & Electronics Engineering profession. The goals are fine-tuned towards to excel in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Education. The Department intends to exceed the expectations of the students, parents and the Management of the College. The stakeholders – faculty, staff and students – understand the goals of the Department and work together to materialize the goals.

Mission

Consistent with the stated mission of the college, the Mission of the electrical and electronics engineering program is to prepare its graduate students for a swiftly changing technical field. The management strives to build a world class undergraduate program with all required infrastructure that provides strong theoretical knowledge enhanced by the state of art skills. The faculty of the department educates and trains the students in a technically strong and challenging manner in order to achieve the following educational objectives:

  • Preparation : To train students to stand out in higher education / to become well trained professionals in different roles and positions.

  •  Core Competence : To prepare students with solid foundation in fundamental sciences, engineering principles, mathematics, analytical and design skills to enhance the potential in generating solutions to practical real world problems.

  •   Professionalism : To inculcate professionalism, care, integrity, principled attitude, good communication proficiency, written skills, understand related societal issues such as environmental protection, resource management, business skills etc.

  • Learning Environment : To endow students with good learning environment, leadership qualities needed for a successful professional career.

QUALITY POLICY

Dissemination and Implementation

  • To create awareness among employees and students by displaying quality policy statement at strategic location in the institute.

  • To frequently conduct training programmes at various levels for employees

Implementation:

  • The faculty members are being encouraged to acquire higher qualifications and attended summer / winter schools / workshop / symposium etc., with necessary financial assistance.

  • In order to provide best teaching practices effective use of pedagogical tools such as campus wide networking, VODs, LCD, OHP, Charts, models etc., will be made.

  • Continuous efforts are being made to recruit suitable faculty members at all positions on regular basis with AICTE Scales by University selections committee

  • Constantly strive for adding adequate infrastructure laboratories, classrooms and improve library and computing facilities.

  • Students are being encouraged to develop innate talents and leadership qualities communication skills etc., by conduction student counseling by class teachers and HOD, co –curricular & extracurricular activities at department and institution levels.  Recently 8th National level student’s technical symposium RIPPLE 2K6   have been conducted in all departments with excellent response. As part of this hardware design contest FILTER 2k6 also was conducted. Scheduled to conduct NCSC-2007 (National conference on signal processing and Communications-2007)

  • Educational tours /Industrial visits / Guest lectures are being regularly organized for all students with financial assistance to improve practical knowledge and interaction with industry.

Ethics

Institutional Level:

  • Establish well defined internal policies: New staff will refer to those policies and can quickly understand the standards of the profession. When there is no applicable law or law is not clear in some ethical issues the internal policies help to resolve such ethical issues.

  • Follow the standards: IEEE has set curricular requirements for accreditation of degree program in Electronics and electronics Engineering. AICTE has set standards for selection of new staff, fixing the pay scales, and implementation of teaching, learning and other academic processes. Obey the codes of conduct set by such formal organizations.

  • Promote educational standards and aim at continuous improvement of Quality of teaching & learning.

  • Do not give dishonest statements and publicity. Do not make promises that are not feasible.

  • Maintain privacy for student-records and employee-records

  • Before making any policy decision, look from the point of view of teachers, parents, students and public

Staff Level:

  • Keep important institutional information and student information confidential.

  • Never use any phrase about caste, religion, race, politics, and so on. You will definitely offend a section of people.

  • Respect the work of colleagues. Take their suggestions as alternative solutions to your problems.

  • There may be a clash of personal interests with ethics, or there may be some obligations. Resolve such conflicts of interest and be honest

  • Maintain a smooth relationship among teachers and students.

  • If you involve in any business or service activities outside the college, inform the same to the management and take the formal permission.

  • Strive continuously to improve your professional competence

Student Level:

  • Accessing others information without permission is like entering others’ property as an unauthorized person.

  • Give respect and be obedient to parents and teachers.

  • Give other students due respect and be congenial.

  • Implement netiquette (good online behavior) while using the internet. Follow the internet laws and copy right law.
