Center of Excellence

SIEMENS Lab

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) is a unique organization formed as a public private partnership (PPP) corporation to promote skill-development & entrepreneurship in the state of Andhra Pradesh. APSSDC in collaboration with Siemens Corporation has identified and established a state-of-the-art technical skill development center at RGMCET, Nandyal.

The main aim of APSSDC-Siemens project is to train large number of unemployed youth for employability and to create industry relevant technically skilled workforce. It follows a hub and spoke model. The more expensive state-of-art laboratories have been kept in the hub i.e. Center of Excellence (CoE), which will also function as center of higher learning and research while the commonly required trade labs have been spread into spokes.

DASSAULT Systems Lab

Dassault Systems and Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to set up a 3DEXPERIENCE Center to make students industry ready in the field of Aerospace, Defense, Automotive, and Shipbuilding on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform with built-in industry solution experiences.

The center will enhance the employability skills of the Engineering and Polytechnic (Diploma) students by making them industry-ready through skill enhancement and certification on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. As part of experiential learning, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform would be made available to the students either on-premise or on the cloud so that they have first-hand knowledge of operating on the platform. The center will provide industry solution experience training leveraging virtual environment, which replicates the real world industry experience thus eliminating the industry access constraints faced by students. The center will provide tele-operated learning facility, where needed, to facilitate remote learning as well. The center will also act as an innovation hub for incubating start-ups and promoting start-up culture in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Remote Center – IIT Bombay

A team of IIT Bombay initiated a project that envisions empowerment of teachers through workshops conducted for thousands of teachers using a unique blend of technology and an innovative pedagogy. Thousands have experienced the effectiveness of this approach. As part of this project –The “Teach 1000 Teachers” programme was initiated in 2009, to enhance the teaching skills of engineering faculty. Lectures are delivered at IIT Bombay using multi-way visual interaction. Participants attend workshops conducted by expert faculty in multiple remote centers.

A Remote Center (RC) is a place from where the participants can interact with the instructor (faculty at IIT) who is conducting the course or delivering a lecture from IIT Bombay. The live lectures are transmitted at Remote Centers using A-VIEW software. In the year 2018, RC is established in our Institution.
