The Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), RGMCET, Nandyal, was established in the year 1995 with a modest intake of 40 students. Over the years it has grown by leaps and bounds and presently offers the B.Tech course in Computer Science and Engineering with a sanctioned intake of 180 students. The Department also offers a P.G. course in Computer Science with an intake of 18. In addition, the Department offers a P.G. course in Master of Computer Applications (MCA) with an intake of 60. The Department has been recognized as a Research Centre to offer Full Time Doctoral Program in Computer Science and Engineering, under Jawaharlal Nehru Technology University (JNTUA), Ananthapuramu, Andhra Pradesh. The Department is vigorously undertaking research and development activities in emerging thrust areas, introducing new innovative courses based on the industry needs, while collaborating with National and International Institutions, R & D organizations and Industries. The Department has contributed substantially to the NAAC accreditation of RGMCET with A+, making the college one of the twelve colleges in India to receive this honor.
